Ipswich Skating Club is pleased to announce a new skating session. “The adult social skate”.
This session will be for skaters 16 years plus, and will include music, lights and skating.
Ipswich Skating Club takes the safety of all participants incredibly seriously, as such there will be several changes to how our sessions used to be run ensuring they are compliant with the current UK COVID-19 restrictions. Further details below.
The session will take place weekly on Saturdays from 18:00-20:00 starting on Saturday 7th November 2020.

When does booking open
Bookings will open 7 days prior to the session. i.e Bookings for Saturday 7th November will go live at 09:00 on Saturday 31st October.
How will the session work
Prior to attendance on the day of the session, all attendees will be required to complete a COVID symptom checker. If completed satisfactorily, they will be allowed to attend. (All completed forms are held for 21 days inline with GDPR guidance for track and trace purposes, after 21 days they are deleted.)
The venue capacity has been greatly reduced to allow for adequate social distancing. Capacity calculated at greater than 3m2 per person.
It remains the responsibility of all individuals attending the session to maintain 2 meters social distance from all others at all times throughout the session. Individuals failing to do so will be asked to leave for the safety of all attending.
Unfortunately, we are unable to safely admit spectators due to the facility layout.
Unfortunately Ipswich Skating Club does not have skates for hire at the present time.
Music & Lighting
We will have music and lights at the session, but the volume will be lower than usual and the venue will be well lit compared to previous social skates inline with current government guidance to reduce raised voices and aid all skaters in maintaining social distance through the session.
Face masks will be mandatory for all (unless medically exempt inline with current UK guidance) at all times unless physically skating. Whilst skating, masks may be removed. This will apply to both skaters and volunteers running the session.
Ipswich Skating Club highly recommends wearing a face mask at all times if you are comfortable to do so.
