The British Figure and Free Championships took place at the Breydon Arena in Great Yarmouth at the beginning of July. The club had 5 skaters competing at the championships and the club would like to take this opportunity to congratulate them all on some fantastic performances.

The figure competition saw all 5 of our skaters take part.
First up were our tots, Amy, Bethany and Esme coming 6th, 7th and 8th respectively.
This was followed by Kirsty in the Cadet category with her securing a place on the podium in 3rd place!
Ipswich’s figure competition was concluded with Sophie competing in the Junior age group placing 6th.
Free
Starting on Friday afternoon, Kirsty completed the short program element of the cadet ladies free competition, she skated a solid program, leaving her in 7th place ahead of Sundays long program. On Sunday she completed her long program and both her combined scores left her in 7th place overall. Kirsty left the weekend achieving new personal bests in each of her programmes.
All three of Ipswich’s tots were up and competing their free programs on Sunday with personal bests across the board. Esme placing 6th with a score of 8.58, Amy 8th with a score of 5.11 and Bethany 9th with a score of 3.65.
